Tonny Zwollo

Tonny Zwollo (1942–2025) was a Dutch architect who worked extensively in the Americas since 1964. She is known for her community-focused approach to architecture, notably designing over 35 schools in Mexico and the largest indigenous market in South America in Otavalo, Ecuador. Her work often involved collaborating with local communities to build infrastructure that boosted employment and preserved cultural heritage. In addition to her architectural projects, she was a writer who published several works on architecture and ecology.[1,2]
