Toshio Enomoto

photographer

Toshio Enomoto is a Japanese photographer born in Tokyo in 1947. He began his career in the early 1970s, working for the Japan Design Center and later engaging in photojournalism for publications such as Mainichi Shimbun and Heibonsha's 'Taiyo'. Throughout his career, he has balanced commercial photography with a serious commitment to fine art photography. Enomoto is particularly noted for his long-term dedication to capturing the cherry blossom season (Sakura) across Japan, often traveling to remote locations to document specific trees in various states of bloom. He is also recognized for his mastery of monochrome film and his recent exploration into the time-consuming process of creating handmade platinum prints, which are valued for their age stability and rich tonality.[1,2]
