Uta Eisenreich

author · photographer

Uta Eisenreich is a visual artist and researcher based in Amsterdam who works at the intersection of photography, performance, and philosophy. Born in West Germany in 1971 to a family of teachers, she studied philosophy in Frankfurt Main during the 1990s before graduating from Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 2000. Her artistic practice involves arranging everyday objects into playful tableaux that explore the relationship between logic, language, and meaning. By creating enigmatic object combinations, her work challenges viewers to rethink their cognitive toolkits for perceiving and representing reality. She is represented by Ellen de Bruijne Projects and teaches at Gerrit Rietveld Academy.[1,2]
