Václav Macek

Václav Macek is a Czech film historian, curator, and professor of film science. He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy at Charles University in Prague in 1982. Since 1993, he has been a teacher at the Department of Film Science at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU), where he headed the department until 2010 and currently serves as a professor. Macek is a prominent figure in Central European photography and cinema history, having directed numerous projects on Slovak and Czech photographic media. He is the director of the Central European House of Photography (SEDF) and has published extensive encyclopedias on the history of European photography.[1,2]
