Vitus Saloshanka
photographer
Vitus Saloshanka is a Belarusian photographer based in Frankfurt, Germany. He relocated to Germany in 2002 and began studying photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Dortmund from 2004 to 2009. His photographic work focuses on built landscapes and how their populations, centers, and boundaries are reworked due to political or social upheaval. Saloshanka's projects often explore boundary zones, including his three-year study of Sochi, Russia (High Hopes), which documented the city's transformation ahead of the 2014 Winter Olympics. His more recent work, 'New Citizens,' features intimate portraits of refugees living in a camp near Frankfurt, aiming to humanize individuals caught in displacement and social limbo.[1,2]
