Vojta Dukát
photographer
Vojta Dukát (born June 12, 1947, Brno, Moravia, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech-Dutch photographer, video artist, and filmmaker. He moved to the Netherlands in 1968 following the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia. His artistic practice focuses on humanistic photography, often documenting the human condition, rural life, and social themes. He was twice nominated for membership in the prestigious Magnum Photos agency in 1974 and 1976. Dukát is known for his poetic approach to imagery, which has been described as a 'taoist' style of photography, blending a sense of romance with sharp observation of nature and industrial settings. He has exhibited his work in various venues in both the Czech Republic and the Netherlands.[1,2,4]
