Werry Crone

Werry Crone (born W.A.J.M. Wernerus) is a Dutch photojournalist and social geographer. He studied biology and social geography at the Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht, where he began his career photographing for student journals and the university's magazine. Crone became a prominent figure in Dutch journalism, serving as the 'photographic face' of the newspaper Trouw between 1988 and 2010. As a staff photographer, he documented a wide range of subjects, from domestic cultural events to international news. Since 2010, he has worked as a freelance photographer and consultant, continuing to produce photo books and educational content on the art of photography. He is known for his observant and participatory approach to image-making, often focusing on the intersection of society, politics, and culture.[2,3]
