William S. Burroughs

William Seward Burroughs II (1914–1997) was a prominent American writer and visual artist, widely considered a primary figure of the Beat Generation. A major postmodern author, his work is characterized by experimental techniques, unreliable narrators, and startling accounts of drug culture and underground lifestyles. He graduated from Harvard University in 1936 with a degree in English. Burroughs significantly influenced both literature and popular culture through his innovative prose and spoken word performances. His most famous works include 'Naked Lunch.'
