Yukio Mishima

Yukio Mishima (1925–1970) was a prolific Japanese novelist, playwright, and political activist. Regarded as one of the most important Japanese novelists of the 20th century, his work explored themes of beauty, death, traditional values, and nihilism. He achieved international acclaim for works such as 'Confessions of a Mask' (1949). Mishima was also known for his complex personality and his leadership in an attempted coup d'état that culminated in his ritual suicide (seppuku) in 1970.[1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12]
