Enzo Sellerio
€9.50
Single-photographer monograph on Enzo Sellerio, the Palermo photographer known for his Sicilian reportage, with text by Sellerio and Diego Mormorio, in Fabbri's I Grandi Fotografi Serie Argento.
This volume gathers photographs by the Palermo-born photographer Enzo Sellerio (1924–2012), who turned to photography in 1952. His best-known work is the Sicilian reportage tradition: his 1955 story "Borgo di Dio", made with the sociologist and activist Danilo Dolci, is regarded as a neo-realist landmark in Italian photography. He also produced a reportage on Palermo for the Zurich magazine du in 1960 and worked for Vogue and Fortune in the 1960s. The book is a single-photographer monograph with an introductory text by Enzo Sellerio and Diego Mormorio. It belongs to the Serie Argento (Silver Series) of Fabbri's I Grandi Fotografi, a collection of volumes on photographers from around the world. The series was directed by the photography historian Romeo Martinez, with Bryn Campbell, a BBC consultant on photography programmes, as collaborator. The volume has 61 pages, partly illustrated, and is in Italian.
