Catalogue accompanying the exhibition at Rose Gallery, Santa Monica in 2007. Introduction by Rose Shoshana and additional text by Guillermo Sheridan in English and Spanish.

Manuel Alvarez Bravo, one of Mexico's greatest artists, published a surprisingly small amount of photographic work. This book takes a step toward increasing that output and enhancing the artist's legacy by featuring a number of works that have either gone unpublished or been overlooked during his lifetime. Encapsulating the complex moods and mystique of Mexico, these images are carefully composed and rich with symbolism.
