Het adresboekje (The Address Book) is a significant and controversial work by French artist Sophie Calle. After discovering a lost address book on a street in Paris, Calle copied its contents before returning it to its owner. She then embarked on an investigation to identify the anonymous owner by contacting the individuals listed within the book, effectively following their lives through the map of the address book. This Dutch edition, published by Uitgeverij Duizend & Een in 1994, features sensitive photographs and intense text that blend reality with fiction.
