An overview of the celebrities Vanfleteren has been photographing the last few years. Unique series of portraits of the Belgian top photographer Stephan Vanfleteren. The successor of the successful book Belgicum Stephan Vanfleteren.
Portret 1989-2009 is a collection of 335 black and white portraits captured by the Flemish photographer Stephan Vanfleteren over a twenty-year period. The work features individuals from various walks of life, including artists, writers, actors, athletes, and politicians from Belgium and the Netherlands. Many of the subjects are not immediately recognizable but are captured with striking clarity, often using a large aperture to focus on specific details like the eyes or facial expressions. The book was published in conjunction with an exhibition at Wintercircus Mahy in Ghent (September 2009 – January 2010). It serves as a successor to Vanfleteren's successful previous work, Belgicum.
