Annelie Thorndike was a well-known documentary filmmaker in the DDR. She was born on April 17, 1925 in Klützow, Germany. She was a director and writer, known for Holiday on Sylt (1957), Du bist min - Ein deutsches Tagebuch (1969) and Alle Ideen beginnen als Traum (1987). She was married to Andrew Thorndike. She died on December 26, 2012 in Wolgast, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany.
