An utterly charming look at the lives of kids in Paris, Doisneau's images in this book are suffused with the warmth and innocence for which his work is most famous. They are paired Jean Donguès' (pen name of Jean-Émile Dommergues, who went on to become an immensely popular radio and television personality) poems, which are themselves whimsical paeans to kid-size struggles and small victories.
