Japon

Japon is a seminal photobook by Swiss photographer and photojournalist Werner Bischof. Published in 1954 by Robert Delpire, the work captures the essence of Japanese culture, landscapes, and people through a controlled sense of light and composition. The book features approximately 27 pages of introduction by Robert Guillain followed by 112 plates of black and white and color photographs. It is noted for being the only book published by Bischof while he was still alive and received significant critical acclaim, winning the prestigious Prix Nadar in 1955.
