Albert Alberts

Albert (Bert) Alberts (1911–1995), who wrote under the name A. Alberts, was a Dutch writer, translator, journalist, and historian. He lived in Apeldoorn from the age of six and studied Indology at Utrecht University. In 1939, he defended a doctorate in literature and philosophy. He worked as an official at the French Ministry of Colonies in Paris. His literary work includes novels, short stories, memoirs of the Dutch East Indies, and essays. He received numerous awards, including the Constantijn Huygens Prize in 1975 and the Silver Medal of Utrecht University in 1994. His writing often explored historical and literary themes.[1,2]
