Annemie Wolff
photographer
Annemie Wolff (born Annemie Koller; 1906–1994) was a Dutch photographer of German origin. She married the architect and photographer Helmuth Egon Wilhelm Wolff in Munich in 1932. In 1933, they fled Nazi persecution to Amsterdam, where they established a photography studio. During World War II, she became active in the resistance and famously photographed portraits of Jews in Amsterdam in 1943, intentionally depicting them with lighter features to potentially aid their survival by appearing non-Jewish (the 'Calmeyer dossiers'). She continued her photographic work throughout her life, documenting various aspects of Dutch life.[1]
