Helmuth Egon Wilhelm Wolff

Helmuth Egon Wilhelm Wolff (1895–1940) was a German-born architect and photographer who fled Nazi persecution in Germany for the Netherlands in May 1933. In Amsterdam, he established a photography studio and became a pioneer in color photography. He founded the monthly magazine 'Kleinbeeld-foto' in 1937, contributing over forty articles to it. His standard work on the subject, 'Kleuren: De ontwikkeling en toepassing der kleurenfotografie', was published in 1939. Despite his professional success and artistic contributions, he committed suicide in Amsterdam in May 1940 during the German invasion of the Netherlands.[3,4]
