photographer

Dutch[2] b. 1961[1] active 1994–present

Ari Versluis is a Dutch photographer known for his long-running project 'Exactitudes', which he began in 1994 with stylist Ellie Uyttenbroek. His work focuses on the visual documentation of social types and subcultures, particularly those found in Rotterdam and other global cities. He employs a systematic, almost anthropological approach to photography, capturing individuals who share specific dress codes and attitudes within a strict grid framework. Versluis is also an educator, serving as a lecturer at KABK (Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten) in the Bachelor Photography and Master Photography and Society programs.[3,4]
