Bodo von Dewitz

Bodo Balthasar von Dewitz (1950–2017) was a prominent German art historian and curator specializing in the history of photography. He served as the chief curator of the Agfa Foto-Historama collection at Museum Ludwig in Cologne from 1985 until his death. His scholarly work is characterized by a rigorous historical approach, treating photographs not merely as aesthetic objects but as crucial cultural documents. He was an initiator of numerous exhibitions on photojournalism and historical image research. Von Dewitz received the Annual Infinity Award from the International Center of Photography in 2002 for his co-edited work 'Kiosk: A History of Photojournalism'.[1,2,3]
