Carel Hendrik Blotkamp is a Dutch art historian and artist. He studied art history at the University of Utrecht from 1963 to 1968 and began teaching the history of modern art in 1969. He served as a professor of Modern Art History at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam between 1982 and 2007. Blotkamp is recognized as a leading Dutch expert on 'De Stijl' and has authored numerous publications on subjects such as Mondriaan, Pyke Koch, Carel Visser, Daan van Golden, and P.
