Desirée Dolron is a Dutch photographer and photojournalist born in 1963 in Haarlem. Her work often explores complex themes of spirituality, religion, and the human body. She has traveled extensively throughout Africa and Asia to document religious ceremonies and cultural practices. Her project 'Exaltation' (2000) specifically investigates the relationship between spiritual longing and physical sensations through images of diverse ethnic groups' religious rituals.[1,2,3,4,5]
