Diane Arbus

photographer

Diane Arbus was a prominent American photographer renowned for her unsettling, intimate, and psychologically complex portraits of marginalized individuals and people on the fringes of society. She studied photography under Berenice Abbott and Lisette Model, and her work was characterized by a unique ability to capture the human condition in its most vulnerable states. Arbus was awarded Guggenheim Fellowships in both 1963 and 1966. Her career was tragically cut short by her death in 1971 at the age of 48, but her influence on contemporary photography remains profound.[1,3]
