Eduard van der Elsken
photographer · author
Eduard (Ed) van der Elsken was a prominent Dutch photographer and filmmaker known for his subjective, participatory approach to street reportage. He is considered one of the most influential postwar photographers in the Netherlands, capturing intimate perspectives on European culture, jazz, art, and alternative lifestyles from the 1950s through the 1970s. His work often focused on human connection and 'unfiltered energy,' ranging from his early years in Paris to his travels in Japan and Cuba.[1,2]
