Erwin Stein

Erwin Stein was a German scholar, administrator, and editor who specialized in the history of German municipal economics and urban development. He served as the General Secretary of the Verein für Kommunalwirtschaft und Kommunalpolitik (Association for Municipal Economy and Municipal Politics), an organization dedicated to the study and improvement of local government. Stein was a prolific contributor to the Deutscher Kommunal-Verlag in Berlin-Friedenau, where he authored and edited a vast array of monographs, including "Monographien deutscher Städte" (1925) and "Die Stadt Heidelberg" (1928). His work, such as "Die deutschen Mittel- und Kleinstädte" (1929), provided comprehensive analyses of the demographic, economic, and social structures of various German urban types.[3]
