Gus Blaisdell

Gus Blaisdell (1935–2003) was an American writer, philosopher, critic, educator, and photographer. He was a prominent figure in the literary and art scenes of New Mexico, specifically Albuquerque, where he arrived in 1964. Blaisdell was a prolific critic whose essays on literature, art, and film influenced readers across the Atlantic. He was also known as the proprietor of the Living Batch bookstore. His photographic work, often associated with Lewis Baltz, captures elements of the American landscape and industrial aesthetics. He is remembered as a charismatic and thought-provoking intellectual whose work spanned multiple disciplines.[1,2,3,4,5]
