Hamish Fulton

author · photographer

Hamish Fulton is a British walking artist who has been creating works based on the experience of walks since 1972. He translates his physical journeys into various media, including photography, drawings, wall texts, and paintings. His practice explores the relationship between nature and man's experience of it, often focusing on the act of movement itself as an art form. Fulton studied sculpture at St Martin's School of Art in London (1966–1968) and the Royal College of Art (1968–1969). His work is held in major collections worldwide, including the Tate Britain and MoMA.[1,2,3,4,5]
