Han Singels (1942–2025) was a prominent Dutch political and social photographer. Born in an internment camp in Sumatra during the Japanese occupation, his early life deeply influenced his artistic perspective. He was part of a generation of engaged photographers who documented the intense social and political upheavals in the Netherlands during the 1960s and 1970s. While initially known for his sharp political photography, he later transitioned into capturing the Dutch landscape and rural life.[1]
