Johan Luger
author
Johan Hendrik Jozef Luger (1887–1964) was a Dutch journalist and columnist who spent over 50 years associated with the daily newspaper De Telegraaf in Amsterdam. He began his career in the 1920s writing reports and travelogues. Known for his human-interest journalism, he wrote under various pseudonyms including Pasquino and Figaro. During World War II, despite the collaborationist leanings of De Telegraaf, Luger remained with the paper until the liberation. Post-war, he contributed to several publications and published works on Amsterdam and travel. He was also involved in international humanitarian efforts, notably with the Nansen Committee.[1,2]
