John Paul Fusco

John Paul Fusco (1930–2020) was an American photojournalist known for his evocative documentation of significant historical events and human experiences. He began his career as a photographer with the United States Army Signal Corps in Korea from 1951 to 1953, before studying photojournalism at Ohio University. After moving to New York City, he became a staff photographer for Look magazine until 1971. Fusco joined Magnum Photos in 1974 and was recognized for his ability to capture the 'human side' of major news stories. His most iconic work includes photographs of Robert F. Kennedy's funeral train in 1968, the 1966 Delano Grape strike, and the human toll of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
