Joseph Sassoon Semah is an Israeli-Dutch artist, photographer, and scholar who lives and works in Amsterdam. Born in Baghdad, Iraq, in 1948, he grew up in the Tel Aviv-Jaffa region. His work frequently explores themes of Jewish history, iconography, and the intersection of religion and art. He has contributed to various exhibitions and publications, including the compilation 'Achter het beeld' in 1987. His practice involves deep research into historical symbols and their contemporary artistic expressions.[1,2]
