Leo Divendal is a Dutch photographer, artist, and theorist known for his poetic and documentary-style photography. Born in Heemstede in 1947, he is recognized for his ability to find beauty in subtle details and his exploration of perception. Divendal has taught photography and graphic design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam (1993–2012) and is an active curator and critic. His work often explores personal and historical themes, such as women's portraits, the history of concentration camps, and rural landscapes.
