Kjell-Åke Andersson

Kjell-Åke Andersson is a Swedish film director, screenwriter, and cinematographer. Born in Malmö in 1949, he began his career in the early 1980s, notably collaborating with Kjell Sundvall on various satirical works for television and film. He gained recognition for his work on films such as 'Jackpot' (1980) and has directed numerous TV series and feature films including 'Wallander – Innan frosten'. Beyond his cinematic career, Andersson is a noted photographer; he traveled to South Wales in the 1970s to document the mining community of Bargoed. His photographic work, notably captured in the book 'Gruvarbetare i Wales' (Miners of Wales), has been recognized for its realistic portrayal of industrial life and was later exhibited at museums such as the Winding House museum in New Tredegar.[1,2]
