Nigel Jonathan Spivey

Nigel Jonathan Spivey is a British scholar and Official Fellow of Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge. He holds an MA and a PhD from the University of Cambridge. His academic career includes serving as a Research Fellow at Emmanuel (1986-89) and Lecturer in Classics at the University of Wales (1989-91). His doctoral research focused on Etruscan archaeology, involving study at the British School at Rome and the University of Pisa. He has held visiting positions at the Getty Institute and the Australian National University. Beyond his academic work in classical art history, he is an athlete who held a hammer-throwing record for two decades and is also active in painting.[1,2]
