Peter Hoefnagels

Gerard Peter Hoefnagels (1927–2011) was a Dutch scholar, politician, and author. He studied law and psychology at Utrecht University before working for the War Council and later the Guardianship Council. In 1957, he earned a doctorate from Professor Ger Kempe on reporting methods. Hoefnagels became a prominent academic in criminology and juvenile justice, serving as a professor in Rotterdam. Beyond his academic career, he was an active public figure, serving as a D66 senator in the Dutch Senate (Eerste Kamer) from 1987 to 1995. He authored numerous works on legal issues, social behavior, and crime, including essays for photographic publications like 'Murder in Rotterdam'.[1,2,6,7]
