Robert Dawson is an American photographer and author. He was born in Courtland, California, in 1950. Between 1982 and 1986, he produced the 'Great Central Valley Project' alongside Stephen Johnson and Gerald Haslam. His work focuses on landscape photography as a means to examine the intensely farmed agricultural heartland of California, specifically documenting the modern reshaping of the valley's landscape and its huge agricultural productivity. He has been involved in various photographic surveys and exhibitions, including those at the California Academy of Sciences and Stanford University.[2,3]
