Roland Collins

author · photographer

Roland Collins (1918–2015) was a British painter, designer, photographer, printmaker, and writer. Born in Kensal Rise, London, he was educated at St Martin's School of Art. He was an acute observer of the London scene during the pre-World War II and post-war periods and later became known for his depictions of France, particularly Normandy and the Riviera. His artistic practice was rooted in a realistic tradition, often influenced by the English watercolourists. In addition to his visual arts, Collins was a writer who contributed text to several works, including 'Le Caniche Volant' (1951).[1,2,3]
