Susan Meiselas

Susan Meiselas is a prominent American documentary photographer based in New York. Born in Baltimore in 1948, she received her B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and an M.A. in visual education from Harvard University. She joined Magnum Photos in 1979. Her early work focused on carnival culture and striptease performers, while her later career has been defined by extensive documentary projects in Nicaragua, Kurdistan, and other regions. Meiselas is also the President of the Magnum Foundation. Her photographic style is noted for its deep engagement with subjects and a commitment to long-term narrative documentation.[1,2,3]
