Tacita Charlotte Dean CBE, RA (born 1965) is a British visual artist who works primarily in film, photography, and drawing. The granddaughter of Basil Dean, founder of Ealing Studios, she was exposed early to the world of cinema. She studied at Falmouth School of Art from 1985 to 1988 and later spent a scholarship year at the Supreme School of Fine Art in Athens. Her work often explores themes of time, loss, and obsolescence through analogue media. She is known for her 'Silueta Series' and has been elected to the Royal Academy of Arts.
