Teju Cole

Teju Cole is a Nigerian-American writer, photographer, and art historian. Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Nigerian parents, he was raised in Lagos, Nigeria, before returning to the United States for higher education. He has written several acclaimed works of fiction and non-fiction, including the novel Open City and the essay collection Known and Strange Things. Cole is also a noted photography critic.[1,5]
