This book is published on the occasion of 'The silence of the eye', a project by the Dutch photographer Désirée Dolron. The starting point for this project is her photo series on 'blinded people'. A wide range of writers from the Netherlands and abroad were invited to react to these sightless photographs. Contributors include Dirk van Weelden, Don DeLillo, Kristien Hemmerechts, Paul Auster, Donna Tartt, Adriaan Morriën, and many more. The work is presented in both Dutch and English.
