Nice Company Folded paper with Art Nouveau company logo of H. Berssenbrugge, Portretfotograaf, Den Haag. Includes original protrait photo on cardboard.
A two-page publication issued under the name of the portrait photographer Henri Berssenbrugge (1873-1959), who ran a studio in The Hague from the mid-1910s; one source gives 1916 to 1940, another says he lived there from 1917 to 1942. The title identifies him as a portrait photographer. Berssenbrugge worked in Rotterdam, briefly in Tilburg, and then in The Hague, where he photographed actors, writers and politicians. He advertised the studio as an atelier for modern portrait photography under his own artistic direction. Alongside commissioned portraits he made independent pictorialist work, and he was internationally the best-known Dutch pictorialist. The sources found do not describe the contents of this particular item, so nothing is said here about its images or text.
