Monsters van de Peel

Published in 1958, 'Monsters van de Peel' is a distinctive photobook by renowned Dutch photographer Martien Coppens. Commissioned as a company book by the Lecturis paper company, it represents a departure from Coppens' typical subjects of people and landscapes, focusing instead entirely on the wood of the De Peel region in all its possible forms. The work captures burnt trees and stumps with an original graphic design by Herman Rademaker.
