Martien Coppens (1908–1986) was a prominent Dutch photographer known for his extensive documentation of the rural life in the province of Brabant. He received his formal training at the Staatliche Fachakademie für Fotodesign in Munich during the early 1930s. His work is characterized by its focus on simple farming families, religious architecture (particularly churches and cathedrals), and industrial subjects. Coppens was a key figure in Dutch photography, serving as an editor for journals such as 'Fotografie' and 'Vakfotografie'. He also organized international photo exhibitions and was a member of the Nederlandse Fotografen Kunstkring.
