€525.00
Folio. Edited by B. Agapov, N. Vladimirsky, V. Zakharchenko. Designed by Z. Deineka. Translated from the Russian. Photographically illustrated with fold out pages, photomontage, maps, inserts, and reproductions of propaganda posters in both black and white, and full color. A skillfully designed propaganda book documenting the rise of socialism in Russia, made in celebration of its 40th anniversary. The images and text work together to send the strong message that communism was born from, and exists for, workers and peasants under the guidance of Lenin. The authors write, "Look at these photographs. Are the men veterans, battle-steeled soldiers? No, they are young lads who perhaps were shouldering arms for the first time in their lives. They won because a great idea guided them."
