David Weiss (1946–2012) was a world-renowned Swiss media artist who lived and worked in Zürich, Los Angeles, and Carona. He is best known for his fruitful artistic partnership with Peter Fischli as the duo 'Fischli/Weiss'. Their work walked the line between irony and sincerity, encompassing sculptures, videos, site-specific installations, projections, and photographs. Weiss was a pioneer in conceptual art, often exploring how everyday objects and actions could be transformed into profound aesthetic experiences. He collaborated on several notable publications and exhibitions during his career, including 'The Desert is Across the Street' (1975).[1,2,3,4,5]
