Dorothea Lange

Dorothea Lange (1895–1965) was a prominent American documentary photographer and photojournalist. She is best known for her evocative work documenting the hardships of the Great Depression in the United States. Working for the Farm Security Administration (FSA), she captured iconic images of migrant workers, including the famous 'Migrant Mother' photograph. Her photography influenced the development of documentary style by humanizing the consequences of economic upheaval and social injustice. Lange was also known for her work documenting Japanese American internment during World War II.
