John Szarkowski

John Szarkowski (1925–2007) was a prominent American photographer, curator, historian, and critic. He is most notably recognized for his tenure as the director of photography at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City from 1962 to 1991. During this period, he played a pivotal role in establishing photography as a legitimate fine art form within the museum's collection and public consciousness.
