Philippe Néagu

Philippe Néagu (1943–1994) was a French historian and curator specializing in the history of photography. He served as the head of the photographic archives service for the Caisse Nationale des Monuments Historiques (CNMHS) starting in 1988. His work focused on the institutionalization of photography, its preservation as cultural heritage, and the study of major figures such as Nadar. He authored numerous works including 'Nadar photographe: portraits d'artistes et de critiques' and contributed significantly to catalogs for the Musée d'Orsay.[1,2,3]
